The attacking midfielder from Pizarra, who was part of the Málaga CF youth ranks, arrives from Getafe CF and signs until the 2020/21 season.
The new Blue and Whites’ player passed the medical yesterday at Vithas Salud Rincón Medical Center Rosaleda and will be officially presented as a Malaguista shortly.
Career
Daniel Pacheco Lobato was born on 5th January 1991 in Pizarra (Málaga). He began to emerge early in the Alevín category with MCF (2001-03), and after passing through the youth ranks of FC Barcelona (2003-07), finished his training at Liverpool FC (2007-09). At senior level, his successful career stood out in the Second Division. He moved up to the Premier League with Norwich City in the 2010/11 campaign. In addition, he achieved three consecutive promotions in his last three seasons in the silver division (with Betis, Alavés and Getafe).
Following the aforementioned ascent to the First Division with Getafe CF – where he coincided with Medhi Lacen – the Madrid club executed the purchase option it had on the player. With Getafe he played a total of 46 matches, 11 in the elite. In the 2016/17 season he played a key role in the promotion to LaLiga Santander, scoring three goals in the three matches he took part in.
International
Pacheco has enjoyed a lengthy career within Spain’s youth ranks. From the U-16s to the U-21s, the player from Pizarra has been a regular fixture in line-ups within the various categories. His biggest success wearing the Spain jersey was the U-19 European Championships of 2010, in which he was proclaimed runner-up as well as the highest scorer of the tournament.
