Chilean-born midfielder, Pedro Morales, signs as new Málaga CF player

Midfielder, Pedro Morales, born in Chile (Hualpén, 25/05/2012), has signed a contract with Málaga Club de Fútbol until the end of the season. Morales arrived on a free transfer, and the Martiricos Club reserves the option to extend the contract for another two seasons at the end of this current season.

Morales landed in Málaga this morning, and was immediately taken to the Clínicas Rincón – Málaga CF medical centre at La Rosaleda, to undergo the routine examinations.  Wearing the number ‘14’ shirt, the player will be in training on Friday under the instruction of Manuel Pellegrini at the Ciudad de Málaga Athletics Stadium, and will later be officially presented at La Rosaleda.
Chilean-born Pedro Morales began his career in his birthplace of Huachipato.  He signed with Universidad de Chile in 2007, where he was named the team’s highest goal-scorer, scoring 13 goals in the ‘Torneo Clausura’.  This amazing performance saw him move to Europe in 2008, signing with Dynamo Zagreb.  Morales and the team were Croatian League champions three times, and took part in the Europa League and Champions League.
Debut with Chile under Marcelo Bielsa:
Pedro Morales made his debut for Chile in 2008, under coach, Marcelo Bielsa, in a match against South Korea.  That same year he also participated with Chile in the prestigious Toulon under-23’s Tournament, where the midfielder reached the final against Italy, and was named the second best player in the competition.  In total, Morales has played for his country 14 times.

Following four seasons with Dynamo Zagreb, Pedro Morales returned to Chile in 2012, and won the ‘Torneo Apertura’ with Universidad de Chile.  That same year he also took part in the ‘Torneo Clausura’ with Chilean-based side, O’Higgins, before returning to Europe as part of Málaga Club de Fútbol.
