Carlos Puga extends his contract with Málaga for three years
The defender has extended his commitment with the Blue and Whites until 2029, meaning he will remain at the Club for the next three seasons.
The 25-year-old Granada-born footballer, whose contract was set to expire on 30th June 2026, has signed a renewal that strengthens Málaga CF’s right-back position.
Puga arrived in Málaga two winter transfer windows ago, in the middle of the 23/24 season, from Club Atlético de Madrid’s reserve team. He was part of the squad that achieved promotion to LALIGA HYPERMOTION, complementing the right-side defensive profile alongside Jokin Gabilondo.
The 24/25 season was a year of consolidation for Puga, who played 31 league matches and one more in the Copa del Rey, totalling 2,245 minutes on the pitch. In the current 25/26 season, he has confirmed his regular presence in the starting-11, competing at a high level with his characteristic fighting spirit, speed, and offensive drive.
This renewal reinforces the Club’s commitment to continuity, sporting stability, and the growth of a project based on dedication, performance, and alignment with the Club’s values.
Málaga Club de Fútbol celebrates the extension of Carlos Puga’s contract, a player who embodies the Blue and White competitive spirit, and wishes him much success in this new stage, defending the Málaga badge until 2029.
Congratulations, Puga!
