Statements by Camacho
(Under-21’s) “I’m really pleased to be back after having been away for a few days, though it was amazing to play for my country, it’s one of the best things about football. I’m very excited to be back with the team in Málaga now.”
(Copa del Rey) “I think it’s so important to concentrate on each match at a time, starting with the crucial match on Saturday, as we need to continue with our good run of results. Then we’ve got the Copa del Rey in which we’re facing a team from Second B Division. Despite being two categories lower than us, they’ll definitely be giving it their all, determined to defeat a First Division team! It’ll be a tough match.”
(Real Valladolid) “I think we’ve performed very well in the previous Champions League matches, with a serious and determined style of play, which proved successful. I think it’ll be a difficult game, as they play a similar style of football to us, with quality players who always try to dominate possession. They’ve been up against tough rivals like Atlético de Madrid and Bilbao, and made it difficult for them too. We need to focus on winning this home match, as it’s so important we don’t lose these three points which could prove crucial at the end of the season.”
(Personal situation) “These are just things that happen in football. One day you play, another day you don’t, but it’s up to the coach to decide. I’ve tried to work as hard as I can, with the same mentality I had last season. I really do make the most of every chance I get to play, as there are others in this team who can substitute any player. I’m just focused on working and training hard every day, and ensuring I’m at the same level as the rest of the team.”
