Buonanotte scores for Málaga against Djurgardens, resulting in a 1-1 draw

Málaga Club de Fútbol faced Djurgardens IF Fotboll in a training match in the Ciudad de Málaga Stadium on Tuesday 13th March, resulting in a 1-1 draw.

None of the starting eleven selected by Manuel Pellegrini who played against Levante last weekend, were included in the line-up for this training match.  Málaga faced Djurgardens IF, a team in the First Division in Sweden, currently at the end of their pre-season.  They demonstrated a high level of fitness, and stood up to the opposition who had more ball possession and several chances to score.  Buonanotte, Sergio Sánchez, Portillo and Duda were very active on the attack, with numerous opportunities to score, all saved by the Swedish goalkeeper.

Fast one-touch game play throughout the Swedish area was the main attacking strategy for Málaga in the first half.  The Swedish side had two chances at goal, with a spectacular save by Kameni, another by Camacho, who intercepted a shot after a long run down the right wing.  There was a nil nil draw after 45 minutes, with both teams playing good football.

The second half got underway with a more focussed Djurgardens on the attack, creating numerous goal chances, with the spotlight on Kameni during the first few minutes.  It was now the visitors who had the biggest opportunities to score first during the second half.  However outstanding play by Sergio Sánchez throughout the match, with excellent passes to his team mates, saw Pellegrini’s men also have several chances to get on the score board.

As time went on, possession alternated between both teams, with much quicker and forceful play from Djurgardens.  The visitors were one nil up as Toivio received a great pass towards the right of the goal, and sliced the ball past Kameni into the top left corner of the net, in the 82nd minute.

Málaga weren’t about to lose this match, and continued attacking play, with practically every shot caught in the hands of the Swedish goalkeeper.  However Diego Buonanotte scored the equaliser for Málaga in minute 86, shooting the ball under Jensen’s right arm, with the keeper unable to save the Argentinean player’s goal ending the match in a 1-1 draw.
