Ben Barek, the double B of benevolence and brilliance

In a video tribute to Abdallah Ben Barek, his colleagues, friends and family remember him as a trainer, coach and, above all, as a good, noble and kind person.

60 years of Malaguismo count for a lot. Even in Morocco he’s known as Abdallah Málaga. A Malagueño who has won the hearts of everyone who ever shared a moment with him, particularly the young ones from The Academy.

From today, Door 6 will forever bear the name of Abdallah Málaga, a legend on both sides of the strait. However, beyond that, he is loved for his way of being, perfectly summed up with his own phrase: “If you’re fine, I’m fine”.

Former teammates such as Antonio Benítez, Bernardi, Martínez and Chato Aragón; players he’s managed including Fernando Peralta, Antonio Álvarez, Basti, Pérez Frías, Aziz Bouderbala and Jorge Valdano; active young players like Isco; and coaches including Pellegrini, Javi Gracia and Míchel all wanted to take part in this tribute.

And, of course, Club president Abdullah Al Thani, friends including Miguel Ángel, Martín Aguilar, and his family from Morocco and Málaga: his daughter Miriam, his son in law and grandchildren were all present in this review of a life marked by his love for Málaga and all those around him. Thank you so much, pajarito míster Abdallah Ben Barek El Antaki.
