Áxel Werner bolsters the Blue and White goal

For the remainder of the current 2018/19 season, the Argentinean goalkeeper is being loaned to Málaga CF. He comes from Atlético de Madrid and was loaned out to SD Huesca for the first round of the competition.

Málaga CF has incorporated a new goalkeeper. Argentine Áxel Werner (Rafaela, 28/02/1996) arrives on loan from the ‘Colchonero’ outfit, from where he was loaned out to SD Huesca during the first round.

Professional career

During the 2014/15 season, the goalkeeper played for the team from his city, Rafaela. At the end of the 2015/16 campaign, he came to Spain. Werner was acquired by Atlético de Madrid and was loaned to Boca Juniors in the 2016/17 season.

Following his time with the ‘Bostero’ side, he returned to the Red and Whites. During this season – 2018/19 – the goalkeeper was loaned out by Atlético to SD Huesca, who achieved promotion to the First Division last season.

He won a Europa League title with the ‘Colchonero’ team in 17/18 and a league win with Boca Juniors (2017/18), playing half a season with each club.
