The Blue and Whites’ reserve team achieved an important victory on Sunday, and are very much in the running to be group leaders.  Patience was certainly a virtue for the ‘Malaguistas’ against a well-positioned Ronda, who put on a strong defensive display, forcing Malagueño to increase their movement all over the pitch.
 
The local side maintained control of the match, and opened the scoring following a Castillejo goal, assisted by Emilio.  Goal opportunities for the visitors were few and far between, but any counter-attack could have proved troublesome for Malagueño.  The Blue and Whites stepped up their intensity in the second half, which led to the second goal, this time from Emilio, with the ‘Malaguistas’ clinching a 2-0 victory.
