Josep Clotet’s boys maintained a strong defence throughout the match and created numerous goal opportunities.  As time went on, Atlético Malagueño began to take control of the game, with a goal by Diego from a set piece to put the Blue and Whites on the score board.  Malagueño – dressed in the black strip – gave the rival little chance to retaliate, and an impressive pass from Fabrice led to a goal for Emilio, putting them 0-2 up at half-time.
 
Keeping the ball away from Pol’s penalty area, Malagueño kept up the strong defence in the second half.  However just when a score of 0-3 looked imminent, Ronda pulled one back, leaving the final score at 1-2 to Malagueño.
