Following yesterday’s match held at the ‘Malagueña’ Football Federation ground, Atlético Malagueño are now in first place of Group IX in the Third Division. Josep Clotet’s boys came away with a 2-0 win, with goals from Emilio Guerra and Mauri.
The ‘Malaguistas’ are now tied with Mancha Real on points, after their victory yesterday in the match that was postponed in November due to the heavy rain.
Atlético Malagueño are one of the most successful teams in the Division, and as well as being in first place, they’ve scored the most goals and conceded the least so far this season.
Following this match, the players took part in a friendly against Villanueva del Trabuco, in which they won by 2-5. The charity match was to raise funds for people who have been affected by the torrential rain. The Blue and Whites are up against El Palo in the highly-anticipated derby, kicking off on Sunday at 5 p.m. in San Ignacio.
