An intense Wednesday in Jaén ahead of the ‘Olive Trophy’
It’s been a busy day of events ahead of tonight’s ‘Olive Trophy’, where Málaga take on Real Jaén.
This afternoon in Casería de las Palmeras, the traditional directors’ lunch took place for Consultant Advisors, José Carlos Pérez and Francisco Martín Aguilar; as well as General Manager, Fernando Hierro and Sporting Director, Antonio Fernández. The president of Jaén, Rafael Te ruel, acted as host of the event. After the lunch, which was marked by its friendly atmosphere in virtue of an agreement between both clubs, it was the turn of Málaga’s most charismatic players.
At the beginning of the afternoon, Julio Baptista and Joaquín, much to the delight of both sets of fans, visited Jaén’s Materno Infantil Hospital. There, the well-known Brazilian and Cadiz-born players met many hospitalised children and much to their delight handed out gifts and kind words.
Before that, in the hospital’s meeting room, Baptista and Joaquín held a press conference where the kids were the true stars.
Once again, the excitement and expectation of seeing the two Málaga players as they left the hospital was palpable. And at 8.30 this evening, there’s the much anticipated match between Málaga and Jaén at the Nueva Victoria stadium.
