This lunchtime hundreds of people attended the funeral of José Carlos Pérez, who died yesterday afternoon.  The services took place in the Hospital Clínico Univeristario and a few hours later in the Parcemasa cemetery, where the chapel was full to bursting.
At the mass, together with family members and friends, were hundreds of people from Málaga and Andalusian society, who had all flown in to express their deep sorrow to his family and to share these difficult times with them.
Alongside players and coaches from the first team, Atlético Malagueño and La Academia were all the Málaga Club de Fútbol staff, led by the General Manager, Fernando Hierro; the Consultant Advisor, Francisco Martín Aguilar; and the Advisor to the Presidency, Jesús Nuño.

Also there to share the grief with his family and friends were representatives from political, sporting and social institutions.  Francisco de la Torre, Mayor of Málaga led the Town Hall delegation.  The Junta de Andalucía was represented by the regional government’s Remedios Martel; and Elías Bendodo was there for Málaga’s provincial government.

And representatives from various Malaguista supporters’ clubs were out in force, as were those from the Association of Ex-Málaga Players, plus former players, trainers and directors of the now extinct Club Deportivo Málaga, amongst them the former presidents, Eduardo Padilla, Federico Beltrán and Fernando Puche.
The world of football wanted to bid farewell to José Carlos Pérez and representatives from Sevilla Club de Fútbol, Valencia Club de Fútbol, Rayo Vallecano and Cádiz CF attended.   There were also as leaders from the referee body AFE and Unicaja.

Bosses and staff from the Spanish multinational, Bestseller, a firm in which José Carlo Pérez lent his services made the services too.  Likewise for countless members of the media, plus leading Malaga personalities, including comedian and TV presenter, Manolo Sarría.

They all joined the numerous fans who had gathered to pay their last respects to the Malaga consultant advisor.
There’s been an outpouring of solidarity which has been shown not only by the many public statements but also by the numerous newspapers which have out José Carlos on their front page, and the social networks which have been inundated with condolences from Málaga CF players, sports people from other clubs and other disciplines, and hundreds of Malaguistas.
