Alexander, in the starting line-up against Argentina

The Blue and White player was in action with his national team yesterday in the South American qualifiers for the upcoming World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

Alexander González was in Venezuela’s starting-11 against Argentina, who won by 1-3 in Venezuela. The Malaguista performed on the right-wing and was substituted in minute 67 of play, midway through the second half, by his teammate Ronald Hernández.

After seven matches, Venezuela have four points (one victory, one draw and five defeats) with their participation in the World Cup now looking very difficult.

Venezuela’s next match is away from home against Peru in the early hours of Monday 6th September (03:00 Spanish time).
