A Coruña, kilometre 12

The second away win of the season for Málaga CF in LaLiga SmartBank 19/20. At an historically elusive ground for the Malaguistas, the 0-1 win against Dépor exemplified a clear superiority.

There were many standout aspects and positives from VSDA’s team in #DéporMálaga. We review them here in our particular kilometre:

The first for Mikel

The versatile Venezuelan defender scored his first goal with Málaga CF at the Abanca-Riazor. His first official goal, just before half-time, which was derived from a successful play woven by Renato and Antoñín following a corner. An excellent reward for the Malaguista central defender or left-back.

‘Pichichi’ Sadiku

The Albanian striker sealed victory scoring the second Blue and White goal close to the full-time whistle. Armando sought it and found it following a couple of previous opportunities. This is his third goal of the current season, out of nine games played, making him the team’s highest-scorer. He has made 24 shots, 10 at goal, so far this season.

Standout young players

The excellent contribution from the MCF Academy this season is no longer news. Cristo, in his second consecutive starting line-up, was a dagger on the attack. A boisterous Antoñín again showed his ability to generate danger. Keidi, omnipresent in the wide area, was both physical and hard-working in equal parts. Three young and extremely well-prepared starting line-up players.

With the debut of Hicham, 26

Another homegrown player who appeared, in the closing stages of play, was the Moroccan reserve team player. The winger debuted with MCF, in LaLiga SmartBank 19/20, becoming footballer number 26 available to VSDA this current campaign. Seventeen registered to the first team, seven reserve team players including Hicham, and two juveniles, Ismael and Ramón. Future… and present.

Stats away from Málaga

Having still not won at Martiricos, Málaga’s figures away from home place the team in 10th place in this classification. Two victories and two draws in seven matches with six goals scored and seven conceded, claiming eight out of the total of 11 points in the pot. With the prevailing equality in the category and a good run at home… keep an eye out!
