This Wednesday 3rd April marks 115 years since the first football match was played in Málaga, according to historic records.
The match was between two teams that formed the Sociedad Málaga Foot-Ball Club. As the game ended in a draw, a tiebreaker was held a week later. Leonardo Campuzano and Antonio J. López captained both teams, in a match that lasted an hour and a half ending in a 1-1 draw.
The match was played on land reclaimed from the sea, on what is now the Fuente de las Tres Gracias, coincidentally the point of celebration for Malaguista fans in major events for a number of years.
It was, without doubt, the seed that led to the future consolidation of the different clubs that have served as first teams of the Blue and White entity. Namely:
Football Club Malagueño (1912 and 1923)
Málaga Football Club (1921, although the title of 'Real' was added in 1927 -Real Málaga FC-)
