Fifteen years later, the Blue and Whites celebrated their 500th First Division game in the Spanish footballing elite, against Getafe CF. José María Movilla, who played in that first match, along with Club adviser, Francisco Martín Aguilar remember the debut that started an historic era.

Former Málaga CF coach, Ismael Díaz, who achieved Second Division promotion with the Blue and Whites in 1997/98, was surrounded by many friends and colleagues at the presentation. Antonio Tapia, López Nieto, Málaga CF adviser, Antonio Benítez; sporting director at the Club, Mario Husillos; and the current coach, Javi Gracia were all in Málaga at the presentation of his book: ‘Dirigir equipos, el arte del estratega’ (‘Managing teams, the art of the strategist.’)

Juan Miguel Jiménez López ‘Juanmi’ held a press conference this morning to talk about his contract extension with Málaga Club de Fútbol. The Coín-born ‘Malaguista’ striker is signed to the Blue and Whites until the 2017/18 season: “I’m very happy and I’d like to thank the Club for their faith in me. I want to keep growing as a player here at this Club, as they’ve given me everything since I was a child. I want to continue defending this shirt with pride.”

Málaga Club de Fútbol and Juan Miguel Jiménez López ‘Juanmi’ (Coín, 20/05/1993) have reached an agreement for the Málaga-born player to remain with the Blue and Whites for another three seasons. Juanmi made his first team debut in 2009/10 at just 16 years of age, and despite being so young, is now in his sixth year with the ‘Malaguista’ first team.

Atlético Malagueño defeated one of the strongest teams in the category, Club Deportivo Huétor Tajar by 0-1, in the 6th Third Division Group 9 match of the season. The first half remained goalless, whilst in the second half Pablo scored the winner for the Blue and Whites. This result sees Atlético Malagueño with eight points, and looking forward to welcoming UD San Pedro at home next week.

We had little clarity on the pitch to generate goal opportunities.”

Málaga Club de Fútbol lost by 1-0 to Getafe Club de Fútbol in the 6th BBVA League game of the season at the Alfonso Pérez Coliseum. Míchel scored the only goal of the game in minute 24 to put Getafe in front. In the second half the Blue and Whites couldn’t get close to the goal area, as they played their 500th game in the First Division.

Málaga Club de Fútbol’s director general, Vicente Casado attended the ‘Malaga Viva’ Forum held at the assembly hall of Málaga’s Business Confederation headquarters (CEM). The Forum was developed between the CEM and Málaga University via its Chair of Business Viability. In attendance at this event were the president of the CEM and CEA, Javier González de Lara y Sarriá; vice chancellor of university coordination at Málaga University, José Ángel Narváez Bueno; president of the Chair of Business Viability of Málaga University, Daniel Pastor Vega; and the director of this department, Julio Diéguez Soto.
