Section: Report
Málaga Club de Fútbol defeated Elche Club de Fútbol by 1-2 in tonight’s 16th BBVA League game of the season at the Martínez Valero stadium. Although the ‘Malaguistas’ generated the most promising goal opportunities in the first half, it was Elche who opened the scoring with a clearly offside goal by Lombán after 45 minutes. Gracia’s team was quick to react and equalised at the start of the second half (minute 49) thanks to a goal from Camacho following assistance from Castillejo. No sooner had Luis Alberto joined, and with excellent individual play, he increased the Blue and Whites’ lead by 1-2. The perfect way for Málaga CF to bid farewell to 2014, gaining another three points, now totalling 30, with three games to go in the first round of the League competition.
