Málaga Club de Fútbol fans are once again drumming up support for the team on social networking sites, with the ‘ponte la blanquiazul’ trend, encouraging everyone to wear blue and white during the last home match of the season at La Rosaleda on Sunday.

The final BBVA League match schedule of the 2012/13 season has been announced. All games will take place on Saturday 1st June at 9 p.m. Final times will however be confirmed after the 37th BBVA League matches this coming weekend.

Málaga Club de Fútbol was back in training this morning following three days off granted by Manuel Pellegrini, as the team didn’t play last weekend due to the Copa del Rey final. Willy Caballero was back in group training today having recovered from a ligament sprain in his left ankle he sustained in the match against Real Madrid.

Uruguay captain, Diego Lugano has become a permanent part of the Málaga line-up in recent matches, and is looking forward to the “special” match against Deportivo de la Coruña: “It’s our last home game of the season, and we’re coming to the end of what’s been an incredible year for the city and the Club. We can end the season in the perfect way with a win on Sunday, and we’re all determined not to lose this last home game in front of all our fans. We need to be prepared for a difficult match against a team fighting relegation, to ensure we qualify for Europe,” affirms the Blue and Whites’ defender.

Section: Atlético Malagueño
Atlético Malagueño are in the play-offs against Universidad de Oviedo hoping to achieve promotion to Second Division B. The draw was held this Monday afternoon in Las Rozas. The Oviedo-based side finished in second place in Third Division Group II, and will travel to the ‘Federación Malagueña de Fútbol’ ground next weekend for the first leg match, the return leg taking place in Asturias.

Andrés Carraco’s boys defeated Sevilla FC on penalties (5-3) during the Coca-Cola Cup match held in Loja (Granada), following a 0-0 draw after full time.

Atlético Malagueño’s victory against Casino del Real leaves Josep Clotet’s boys in fourth place with qualification to the Second Division B promotion play-offs. The Juvenil División de Honor side weren’t as lucky in their Copa del Rey first leg match against Villareal CF, and need to try and turn the result around in the return leg of the last-16. The Alevín Preferente team got through to the next stage of the Andalucían Championships, and will now face Ciudad de Granada.

The Blue and Whites have reached an agreement with Aston Villa to hold the presentation match in Birmingham at the Villa Park Stadium, on Saturday 10th August at 3 p.m. (local time). This match against Villa is the first confirmed game of Málaga Club de Fútbol’s 2013/14 pre-season. Málaga CF’s definitive schedule of stadiums and matches in 2013/14 will be announced shortly.

The Málaga Club de Fútbol Foundation invited the Down-Málaga Association to visit the Museum & Tour, and meet first team player Eliseu.

Málaga Club de Fútbol and UEFA will appear at the Court of Arbitration for Sport headquarters (TAS) on 4th June 2013, located in Lausana in Switzerland in Avenida de Beaumont. In an official statement released on their website, the TAS confirms the Club’s appeal against UEFA’s decision regarding Financial Fair Play regulations, announced on 21st December 2012. The court has confirmed that a decision will be reached shortly after the hearing in June.

Málaga Club de Fútbol were back in training this morning, the last session of the week, ahead of Manuel Pellegrini allowing the team a three-day break, as this weekend’s scheduled match was brought forward to last week. Toulalan was back in normal group training today, and Willy Caballero was back working on the pitch under the instruction of physical trainer Hugo Camarero. Roque Santa Cruz, Martín Demichelis, Iturra and Julio Baptista exercised in the gym again this morning.

Atlético Malagueño and Málaga CF’s ‘Juvenil División de Honor’ team are taking part in two crucial matches this Sunday at the ‘Federación Malagueña’ ground. The Blue and Whites’ reserve team are taking on Casino del Real at midday, hoping to clinch a place in the promotion play-offs to reach Second Division B, whilst the ‘Juveniles’ take on Villareal CF in the knock-out stage of the Copa del Rey, at 5 p.m. Málaga CF members can get tickets for both these matches for just one euro, and non-members can see the Third Division game for five euros, and the Copa del Rey Juvenil match for three euros.

‘Malaguista’ Card holders and Club members have the chance to enjoy the last game of the season at La Rosaleda with a special offer for children. Card holders can purchase a maximum of two tickets for kids – up to 12 years of age – priced at just 15 euros each, for the match next Sunday 26th May. These children’s tickets are available from Friday 17th May at the Stadium’s ticket offices.

Málaga Club de Fútbol’s Manuel Iturra, is pleased with UEFA’s decision not to increase the Club’s fine and to grant the UEFA licence, depending on the ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport: “We’ll wait and see what happens, but everyone here is working extremely hard to resolve the problems, and find the best solution for Málaga and all the fans, who don’t deserve this punishment,” affirms the Chilean-born player.

Málaga Club de Fútbol received an official communication from UEFA today, Thursday 16th May, stating that the financial control committee has confirmed, after analysing the situation surrounding the Martiricos outfit at as at 31st March 2013, that they are revoking the second year sanction imposed on the Club.

This morning’s training session at the Ciudad de Málaga Athletics Stadium had some very special visitors: more than 2,000 children from schools in Málaga and throughout the province, as part of their visit to the Museum & Tour at La Rosaleda. With regards to injured players, Demichelis underwent a series of tests this morning, confirming his sprained right ankle (his recovery status is still pending).

Málaga CF’s left-winger, Gabriel Antunes who arrived during the January transfer window, expresses his wish to stay at the Club next season: “I’d love to stay here at Málaga, I’ll wait until the end of the season but I’m very optimistic. Málaga are a fantastic outfit who have given me a great opportunity. The fans are incredible, I love the city…what more could I ask for?” affirms the Portuguese-born defender.

Pablo, Max and Camilo, who took part in the Summer Camp last year, are now playing in Málaga CF’s lower ranks. The Club’s official Summer Camp is back and better than ever before, with loads more activities, and the chance for the children to improve their skills at the hands of the Blue and Whites’ professionals. There are a lot of surprises in store too, so maximum fun is most definitely guaranteed.

The third annual La Academia Summer Camp was officially presented in a press conference this morning at La Rosaleda Stadium, by Club Adviser, Ben Barek; José Antonio Cachaza, Business Development Manager; Salvador Moreno, La Academia Summer Camp Manager; and Málaga Club de Fútbol players, Jesús Gámez and Portillo. With a strong sporting and educational philosophy at the hands of some of the best professionals, the prices for the Summer Camp are the same as last year (including a 10% discount for ‘Malaguista’ Card holders before 15th June) with a total of four weeks to choose from. The Hotel Sol Andalusí in Alhaurín de la Torre will again be the home of this year’s Summer Camp. Everyone that signs up will receive an official UEFA Champions League Málaga Club de Fútbol shirt as a gift, to commemorate the Blue and Whites’ historic season. There is also the possibility to learn English for an additional cost of 30 euros.
