Three Málaga Club de Fútbol players were in action with their national teams today. Samu Castillejo debuted with Spain’s under-21s in the starting-11, in a friendly against Norway. Ricardo Horta played in the second half of Portugal’s match against Denmark, which ended in a goalless draw, and La Academia goalkeeper, Embela played for 90 minutes as Equatorial Guinea took on Egypt in Cairo.

Málaga Club de Fútbol director general, Vicente Casado, and Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, signed the protocol of intentions at the Hall of Mirrors in City Hall, to grant the Málaga Club de Fútbol Foundation the land concession, classified for sporting use within the Arraijanal plan, to enable the construction of a sports, cultural and social centre that is La Academia. The land, destined for the Foundation’s important construction, has an area of 108,000 square metres, valued at more than 14 million euros. This concession will be free, for a 75-year term: “We’re grateful for the effort put in by all parties to make this project a reality. This protocol is another step further towards this basic project for Málaga Club de Fútbol and its Foundation,” affirms Vicente Casado at the signing.

After not being included in the first list on Friday, he was called-up today due to Diego Costa being injured. The ‘Malaguista’, a regular in the lower ranks of the Spanish Football Federation, won the European Championships with Spain’s under-19s in 2011 and 2012, whilst captaining the squad.
