They lost to Elche CF on penalties (3-2) in the first semi-final, and defeated Valencia CF by 6-1 in the fight for third and fourth place. Athletic Club de Bilbao won the tournament.

The Association of Ex-Málaga Football Players finished in third place in the Spanish Association of Veteran Footballers’ (FEAFV) Charity League, which took place last weekend in Alboraia (Valencia).

The tournament was between the champions of the territorial charity leagues: Málaga CF, Elche CF, Athletic Club de Bilbao and Valencia CF (as hosts).

The Blue and Whites played the first semi-final against Elche CF, and lost on penalties (3-2), after a 1-1 draw at full time.  The other semi-final was between Valencia CF and Athletic Club de Bilbao.  The Basque Country side secured a massive 1-7 victory.

During the fight for third and fourth place, the Málaga CF Veterans overpowered Valencia (6-1) and ended the tournament in third place.  The final was also decided from the 11-metre mark after the Bilbao and Elche veterans ended the match with a 1-1 draw.

At the end of the competition, the annual assembly of the FEAFV was held, and awards were presented to the participating teams.
