Third new player, Tissone, signs three-year contract
Málaga Club de Fútbol has signed a contract with Italian-Argentinean-born midfielder, Fernando Damián Tissone Rodríguez (Quilmes, Argentina – 24/07/86) for three seasons. Twenty-six year old Tissone arrives at the Martiricos Club as his contract with former club, Real Club Deportivo Mallorca came to an end. His position is a defensive midfielder, and he’s known for his strength and containment on the pitch.
Fernando Tissone began his training in his home country of Argentina, playing in the lower ranks of Quilmes, Independiente and Lanús. At an early age, he moved to Europe with his family, where he signed his first contract with Udinese, making his ‘Serie A’ debut in 2004/05, the first 18 year-old player from Argentina to do so in history. Following a season in Udine, where he took part in European competition – both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup – Tissone joined Atlanta in 2006/07. There he played 68 League matches and scored six goals during two seasons.
Following his time in Atlanta, Tissone returned to Udinese for a season, before joining Sampdoria in 2009/10. He stayed there until he signed for RCD Mallorca, where he’d previously been on loan. During his two seasons with Mallorca, he played in more than 40 BBVA League matches (2011/12 and the second half of 2012/13).
Despite being just 26 years old, Tissone has played more than 230 official matches: 163 in the ‘Serie A del Calcio’ and 41 in the BBVA League, as well as those in the Copa Italia and Copa del Rey. In Europe, the Italian-Argentinean midfielder has played eight Champions League games (two play-offs and one group stage match), the Europa League (one match) and the former UEFA Cup (four games).
