The Friends of Angels’ Asylum Association awarded the title of sponsor of the IV ‘Asylum Walk’ to Málaga CF President, Sheikh Abdullah ben Nasser Al Thani. Málaga CF Board member, Nayef Al Thani collected the award in his name during the event held at the Ciudad de Málaga stadium. Also in attendance were Club adviser, Abdullah Ben Barek, and Sebastián Fernández Reyes, Basti from the MCF Foundation’s Social Department.
Last year some 400 people took part in the charity walk, with numbers expected to be higher this year. It costs €5 to enter, which will be donated in full to the ‘Asilo de los Ángeles’. Those signing up can collect their number at the brotherhood home of the Confraternity of Students, located in calle Alcazabilla, from Monday to Friday between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.
Ben Barek said to the assembled media that “the Club is willing to assist in whatever is necessary to help those in need. Málaga CF is honoured to sponsor this initiative, and we’ll do all we can to make sure it’s a success.” In turn, Juan Antonio Fernández Pérez from the Friends of Angels’ Asylum Association, explains: “anyone can take part in the charity walk, children and dogs have been involved in previous years. The Asylum is struggling at the moment, and the Friends of Angels’ Asylum Association is here to help with anything. Sport and good health is fundamental for the elderly, and what better representation than Málaga CF.”
