'Pinturas Andalucía' bring colour to Málaga-Sevilla

Málaga CF will welcome Sevilla FC to La Rosaleda for the 35th LaLiga Santander match. The stadium will be decorated with a mosaic made up of 30,000 blue, green and purple cards, thanks to 'Pinturas Andalucía'.

The lead-up to #MálagaSevillaFC will be marked by the giant mosaic made up of 30,000 cards, organised by ‘Pinturas Andalucía’, who have been supporting the Club and its fans for many years. Precisely for this reason, and making the most of this special match for Blue and Whites’ fans, the stands will be coloured in blue, green and purple, representing the capital of the Costa del Sol.

Referee, Martínez Munuera will officiate the match between the Blue and Whites and Sevilla. To date, he has refereed MCF in seven First Division games, with a balance of three victories, two draws and two defeats for the Malaguistas.

Málaga CF and Sevilla FC have faced each other on 14 occasions in the elite at La Rosaleda. The results have been positive for the Blue and Whites, with six wins, three draws and five defeats. The last League clash at Martiricos was last season, 2015/16, which ended in a (0-0) draw.

  • Sevilla FC played CD Málaga during the official inauguration match of La Rosaleda stadium, on 14th September 1941, with the friendly ending in a 3-2 victory for the Malaguistas.

The first Málaga CF-Sevilla FC

  • On 9th April 2000, the first match between Málaga CF and Sevilla FC took place, at La Rosaleda, in the top flight. The 32nd match of the 1999/00 season ended in a 3-0 win for the Malaguistas, with goals from Catanha, Rufete and Alberto Luque.
  • Málaga CF coach at the time, Joaquín Peiró selected the following Blue and Whites’ line-up: Contreras; Rojas (Sandro ’54), Fernando Sanz, Roteta, Valcarce; Ruano, De Los Santos, Movilla, Rufete; Catanha (Musampa ’89) and Darío Silva (Alberto Luque ’80).
  • Curiously, days after the celebration of this match, remodelling works began on La Rosaleda – with the demolition of the ‘Fondo’ section – which ended in 2006.
