The ‘Malaguistas’ were back in action this morning at the Ciudad de Málaga stadium; the penultimate session of the week ahead of Monday night’s match against Villarreal CF at La Rosaleda, kicking off at 10. Sergio Sánchez was the only player absent from group training today. He exercised in the gym and later on the pitch, under the instruction of physical trainer, Hugo Camarero.

The 21 year-old Argentinean striker joined Málaga CF during the January transfer window. Here he tells us how he’s adapting to Spanish football and who he looks up to on the team: “I always try and learn as much as I can from my teammates, particularly Roque, who plays in my position on the pitch. He’s such an experienced player, and I always take as much as I can from him.” Ezequiel Rescaldani has two objectives during his time with the ‘Malaguistas’: “Firstly, that Málaga CF stays in the First Division, and secondly, that I’m able to remain here in Málaga for longer than six months.”

Málaga CF was back to work this Friday morning, ahead of Monday night’s match against Villarreal CF, kicking off at 10. Fuengirola-born Jesús Gámez is back in training with his teammates following his recovery from injury, along with Ukrainian-born Iakovenko. Both players completed the entire training session with the group this Good Friday.

The Málaga CF captain is once again available for the team line-up following his four-match ban, and hopes the Blue and Whites can defeat Villarreal CF on Monday at La Rosaleda: “After being out of action for four matches, I’m really pleased to be a part of the line-up again and available to the coach. I’m only thinking about winning on Monday and earning points,” affirms Duda.

The Blue and Whites were back to work this misty Thursday morning, with both Duda and Samuel back in normal group training. Gámez and Iakovenko exercised on the pitch separately from the others, and Sergio Sánchez continued his recovery training in the gym.

Málaga Club de Fútbol advisory board member, Ben Barek, is at the LFP Aspire Challenge U15 tournament currently underway in Doha, and talks about the Blue and Whites’ performance: “It was a great experience for Málaga CF. The team performed remarkably well in every match and played top level football. The Spanish teams all played to a high standard, and everyone got on so well. The sporting facilities here are second to none.”

Málaga Club de Fútbol’s Weligton Robson Pena de Oliveira has been given a one-match ban by the Royal Spanish Football Federation’s Competition Committee (RFEF). The Brazilian-born centre forward will therefore miss out on Monday night’s game against Villarreal Club de Fútbol.
