Another victory for Atlético Malagueño against CD Ronda puts them in a higher position in the table. The visitors opened the scoring in minute 4 of play with an impressive goal from Chikini in front of the area, but Atlético Malagueño turned the result around with goals from set pieces; Álex Portillo with a free kick and Rufo following a corner.

The Málaga-born striker, who opened the scoring in tonight’s game following an outstanding pass from Camacho, scored the 1,200th goal in Málaga CF’s history: “It was really lucky I scored this goal, the 1,200th Málaga CF goal, but more than scoring a goal – I’m pleased with our victory.”

The Málaga CF coach analyses his team’s victory at the Nuevo Arcángel stadium: “We’ve got a lot of things to improve on as we needed to generate a lot of scoring opportunities in order to clinch two goals. The result could have been more favourable if we were more accurate with our chances, but overall I’m very pleased.”

Málaga Club de Fútbol defeated Córdoba Club de Fútbol by 1-2 in tonight’s 8th BBVA League game of the season at the Nuevo Arcángel stadium. With four Málaga-born players in the starting-11 (Recio, Samuel, Juanmi and Samu Castillejo), the ‘Malaguistas’ achieved their first away win of the season. Javi Gracia’s men had a great first half, up by 0-2 after 45 minutes thanks to a goal from Samuel, following an outstanding assist from Camacho, and an Amrabat penalty after a foul on Juanmi. The Blue and Whites generated good opportunities to increase their lead in the second half, but it was Ghilas in stoppage time who put the locals on the score board, with the match ending in a 1-2 win for Málaga CF.

Atlético Malagueño is playing host to Club Deportivo Ronda on Sunday 19th October at 11:30 a.m. at the ‘Federación Malagueña’ ground, for the 9th Third Division Group 9 match of the season.

Málaga CF, via its Foundation and in collaboration with La Caixa’s Day of the Volunteer, brought together 200 children from the CaixaProfancia social institutions for a day of sport. Regional manager of CaixaBank in eastern Andalucía, Victorino Lluch; Blue and Whites’ player, Marcos Angeleri; Club adviser, Antonio Benítez; business development manager, José María Arrabal; assistant coordinator at La Academia, Francesc Arnau; and Málaga CF veterans and volunteers from both entities made this day happen, under the slogan ‘Come and share a smile.’

Málaga Club de Fútbol is now in Córdoba, ahead of tonight’s match against Cordoba Club de Fútbol at the Nuevo Arcangel at 10 p.m. The Blue and Whites arrived at approximately 12:30 this afternoon and were welcomed by hundreds of fans at their hotel, where the team will remain until just before kick-off.

Málaga Club de Fútbol coach, Javi Gracia held a press conference following this morning’s training session, to talk about the upcoming BBVA League clash with Córdoba Club de Fútbol: “They are a team that always tries to capitalise on their strengths and play great football. I want to see a positive image of our team tomorrow, full of ambition and eager to claim the points in play.”
