Málaga CF left the María Zambrano station this morning on the 9 a.m. AVE train to Madrid. On arrival the Blue and Whites will be taken to the Adolfo Suárez airport as they begin their journey on the LFP World Challenge tour, taking place in southern and western Australia.

Atlético Malagueño defeated OFK Belgrade by 0-2 in their first match of the under-21’s tournament, which pays homage to Russian goalkeeper, Lev Yashin. Víctor Ruiz and Ernesto Gómez scored for the Blue and Whites.

Javi Gracia has announced his first team line-up as Blue and Whites’ coach, and named the 24 players who will be travelling to Australia to take part in the tour organised by the Professional Football League. The boys will come up against Adelaide United FC and Perth Glory FC.

Málaga Club de Fútbol’s Australian tour gets underway on Tuesday. The objective of the LFP World Challenge is to promote the Spanish brand all over the world via a series of football games, special events, get-togethers with other sportspeople and other activities. During their tour of Australia, the ‘Malaguistas’ will play the first friendly matches of the pre-season. On Friday 25th July they will face Adelaide United FC (12 p.m. Spanish time) and on Sunday 27th the boys will come up against Perth Glory FC (9 a.m. Spanish time).

Willy Caballero bid farewell to the ‘Malaguistas’ this morning, after three and a half seasons with the Blue and Whites. Accompanied by Club advisers, directors and employees, the Argentinean-born goalkeeper said an emotional goodbye: “I was treated amazingly well here. I’ll always carry Málaga CF in my heart.”

Málaga Club de Fútbol was back to work this afternoon in what was a predominantly physical session, consisting of continuous running at varying levels of intensity.
