President of Los Lunes Málaga supporters’ club, Fernando Sierra, accompanied by President of the ‘Peñas Malaguistas’ Federation, Miguel Molina, assistant to the President, Pepe León and various members of the ‘peña’, named Nordin Amrabat the best Blue and Whites’ player of the season following a vote held during every match of the year via social media.

A fantastic goal from Samuel and another from Duda turned the match around last season at La Rosaleda when the ‘Malaguistas’ were 1-2 down. The final 3-2 home win for the Blue and Whites gives a total of 13 home victories against Sevilla, eight draws and 10 defeats.

Málaga Club de Fútbol is ending this League season on Saturday at La Rosaleda at 6:30 p.m. with an Andalucían derby against Sevilla Fútbol Club. The Club wishes to say a special thank you to all the fans for their amazing support throughout the season. Therefore, in collaboration with Pinturas Andalucía, the last match at the Martiricos stadium will have a true party atmosphere, as a giant blue and white mosaic will cover the entire stadium. There will also be volunteers present at the stadium doors to paint fans’ faces blue and white, so everyone can show their team’s colours and come together to win the last match of the season, for which there are only 1,200 tickets left.

Referee, Ignacio Iglesias Villanueva from the Galician Referee School, will officiate the final BBVA League match of the season between Málaga CF and Sevilla FC at La Rosaleda stadium on Saturday 23rd May, kicking off at 6:30 p.m.

There’s an important weekend ahead for Málaga CF’s youth teams. Atlético Malagueño begin their Second Division B promotion play-offs, whilst the ‘Juvenil División de Honor’ boys are facing the return leg of the Copa del Rey knockout stage against CF Damm (first leg ended in a 2-2 draw). The ‘Alevín’ team is taking part in the knockout round of the Andalucía Clubs Championships, whilst some of the 7-a-side teams are bringing forward their games in order to compete in various international post-season tournaments next weekend.

‘Malaguista’, Samuel, who missed out on the match against Villarreal due to a gastrointestinal virus, held a press conference following this morning’s training session, firmly focused on Saturday’s clash with Sevilla FC and increasing the options of clinching seventh place: “Only a win will do this weekend, and Athletic Club needs to lose or draw. Following the fantastic season we’ve had, I think we deserve this place.”
