The Blue and Whites returned to training this evening from 6 at the Ciudad de Málaga stadium, ahead of Monday’s League clash with Valencia CF at La Rosaleda (8:45 p.m.) The players from last night’s Cup game underwent recovery training, whilst the rest had a normal session.

Teams in Málaga CF’s youth ranks have the following match timetable this coming weekend:

Málaga Club de Fútbol wishes to thank all the fans for their incredible support throughout the Copa del Rey. The Blue and Whites are now concentrating on the forthcoming match against big rival, Valencia Club de Fútbol on Monday 2nd February. In the words of one of the famous chants at La Rosaleda, “Now more than ever, I love you Málaga,” everyone at the Club is hoping for a special atmosphere at the Martiricos stadium on Monday against Valencia. Season ticket holders can acquire more discounted tickets for this match, and those who attend the game will be entered into a draw to win great prizes, such as the ball used in the game, signed shirts, trips with the first team and VIP tickets.

Málaga CF defender, Weligton held a press conference in the mixed zone at San Mamés, unhappy with tonight’s Cup elimination: “We knew the opportunity we had in front of us and tried to score, but it just wasn’t to be.”

Málaga CF was determined to keep the Cup dream alive despite the heavy downpour at San Mamés tonight, following the 0-0 draw in the first leg at La Rosaleda. Aduriz put the locals in the lead in minute 47. Javi Guerra went on to equalise, however the goal was disallowed as the referee declared Juanmi offside.

The Blue and Whites arrived at Bilbao airport at 12:30 p.m. and will remain at Hotel Gran Silken Domine until tonight’s match. The players travelled alongside some 50 fans who will be cheering their team on at San Mamés tonight, for the Copa del Rey quarter-final second leg, kicking off at 10.
