The Blue and Whites are celebrating their ninth victory as they bid farewell to 2014. Goal-scorer Luis Alberto, and team captain, Duda appeared in the mixed zone at the Martínez Valero stadium following the game.

Málaga Club de Fútbol defeated Elche Club de Fútbol by 1-2 in tonight’s 16th BBVA League game of the season at the Martínez Valero stadium. Although the ‘Malaguistas’ generated the most promising goal opportunities in the first half, it was Elche who opened the scoring with a clearly offside goal by Lombán after 45 minutes. Gracia’s team was quick to react and equalised at the start of the second half (minute 49) thanks to a goal from Camacho following assistance from Castillejo. No sooner had Luis Alberto joined, and with excellent individual play, he increased the Blue and Whites’ lead by 1-2. The perfect way for Málaga CF to bid farewell to 2014, gaining another three points, now totalling 30, with three games to go in the first round of the League competition.

Atlético Malagueño lost out to Atlético Melilla CF by 2-0 in today’s 18th Third Division Group 9 game of the season at La Espiguera. The ‘Malaguistas’ generated the best chances to score in the first half, but luck wasn’t on their side and at half-time the score board hadn’t changed. The local side dominated play in the second half and converted their chances into goals. In minute 63 they were 1-0 up following a Moha penalty. Sidi made it 2-0 after 68 minutes. This result sees Salva Ballesta’s team remain in fourth place in the group, pending tomorrow’s match between Vélez CF and Español del Alquián.

Following this morning’s training session, Málaga Club de Fútbol coach, Javi Gracia announced the line-up for the last match of 2014 against Elche Club de Fútbol, taking place tomorrow at the Martínez Valero stadium at 7 p.m. Duda and Sergi Darder return to the line-up, to the detriment of suspended Samuel and Rosales.
