Atlético Malagueño central defender, Mikel Villanueva has debuted with Venezuela’s first team in an international friendly against Costa Rica.
Villanueva, a pillar in the reserve’s team defence, currently in the top spot of Third Division Group 9, was part of the starting-11 in the friendly between Venezuela-Costa Rica held in Barinas. The ‘Vintotinto’ side won by 1-0 thanks to a goal from Wilker Ángel in minute 88’
The Venezuelan defender made his international debut with his country’s first team, joining compatriots, Roberto Rosales – a regular fixture with the south American team – and Juanpi Añor, who along with Mikel Villanueva, has been an international with Venezuela once.
