Miguel Torres: “Our plan is to continue working hard in matches”

Blue and Whites’ defender, Miguel Torres held a press conference this morning at the Ciudad de Málaga press room: “I’m fit and ready for what the coach needs,” affirms the Madrid-born player.

Physically able

“On Sunday it was three weeks since my injury.  I’m feeling great, within my recovery time, everything has gone well and I’m fit and ready for what the coach needs.  We’ve now got the match against Barcelona coming up, and I’m eager to help the team, so I hope the coach gives me an opportunity to give my all.”

Hard-working team

“I like the team’s line of progression.  From an emotional point of view, we needed it, as did the fans.  We’re now up against some difficult rivals, but our plan is to continue doing what we’ve been doing, working hard in matches.  Despite the defeat in Sevilla, the team ended the game with a good feeling, and we hope to continue this in our forthcoming matches.”

Big game

“Often when playing against major rivals, it gives you the responsibility of having to work in a more organised way.  Since I arrived here, the coach has always approached these matches in a very ordered manner and we’ve played very good football.  Barcelona have few flaws, but they know us well now, and it isn’t going to be easy.”

Motivation for Saturday

“Luckily we’ve achieved good results in previous seasons and matches (against Barcelona), but it will not be straightforward.  Motivation is high throughout the team, particularly as we’re playing at home, and we’re determined to play a brilliant game for our fans.  I hope it’s a great match, and we clinch a great result.”

FC Barcelona

“Barcelona secure big results and make it look easy, so with teams like this we must focus our attention on tactics.  It is not a match for a player to promote themselves individually, it’s about working together.  I trust in my teammates and I think the fans are expecting a lot from us, however the three points in play are of the same importance as those in Sevilla or the ones next week.”
