The Blue and Whites’ reserve squad is away to At. Mancha Real on Sunday at 12 p.m. at the difficult La Victoria ground, for the 2nd Third Division Group 9 game of the season.

Atlético Malagueño deserved more from the first match of the 2014/15 campaign, against a well reinforced Linares Deportivo with early aspirations of promotion. Linares generated three goal opportunities and were successful with all three – the last one looked to be dubiously offside – whilst the ‘Malaguistas’ had many more chances to score, but only Falu Aranda managed to get two goals.

The Andalucían Football Federation has announced the Third Division Group 9 match schedule for 2014/15. The Blue and Whites’ reserve team is kicking off the competition against a tough rival, as they welcome Linares Deportivo, who finished in second place in the table last season.

The Blue and Whites’ reserve team was defeated by SL Benfica by 1-3 in their second match of this tournament. With the rival in the lead, a Deco goal allowed the ‘Malaguistas’ to qualify for the final consolation round, taking place tomorrow at 3 p.m. – mainland Spain time – against CSKA Moscow.

Atlético Malagueño defeated OFK Belgrade by 0-2 in their first match of the under-21’s tournament, which pays homage to Russian goalkeeper, Lev Yashin. Víctor Ruiz and Ernesto Gómez scored for the Blue and Whites.

Following the first week of pre-season training, Málaga’s reserve team is travelling to Moscow on Sunday to compete in the under-21’s international tournament, the Lev Yashin Cup, kicking off on Monday 21st July.
