  • In the First Division, MCF and Getafe have faced each other 9 times at La Rosaleda, with a very favourable outcome for the Blue and Whites:  6 victories, 2 draws and just one defeat.
  • Two veterans. Duda, with 320 games, and Juan Rodríguez with 312, have played the most First Division matches for both teams.  They are also the ones who have played the most Málaga-Getafe games. The Portuguese defender with 15, and the midfielder, 13.
  • Nearly reached the centenary.  Javi Gracia has accumulated 95 matches in LaLiga as coach, 60 of which were with Málaga CF.  Fran Escribá, the Getafe coach, has reached 98 First Division matches.
  • Martínez Munuera has refereed 5 of Getafe CF’s matches in LaLiga, resulting in 2 draws and 3 defeats for the Madrid-based team.  The Valencian referee made his debut in the First Division in a Getafe game, Real Sociedad-Getafe (2-0) corresponding to the 1st match of the 2013/14 season.

A beautiful goal from ‘The Beast’

Possibly one of the best memories for ‘Malaguista’ fans in recent years.  The night of 1st October 2011, the 7th LaLiga game of the season, La Rosaleda.  Following a goalless first half, Pedro León took the lead for Getafe with a great goal at the start of the second half.  Van Nistelrooy equalised soon after and Maresca made it 2-1 to Málaga in minute 87’, but Miku responded in the same minute to equalise at 2-2.  Then Julio Baptista appeared, with a strong, aesthetically beautiful goal to score the 3-2 win in stoppage time, to the delight of fans at the Martiricos.  An epic victory that momentarily put Pellegrini’s Málaga in the top spot of the First Division.
