Match preview: Málaga-Celta

Málaga CF plays RC Celta de Vigo at La Rosaleda stadium in the 36th LaLiga Santander match. Kick-off is on Sunday at 20:45.

With a victory, the Blue and Whites, 12th in the table with 42 points, would move in front of the Galician-based rival, who are in 11th place with 44 points. In the first round clash at Balaídos, the home side won by 3-1.

The match will be officiated by Carlos Del Cerro Grande, who has refereed Málaga CF in 13 First Division games. Results with the Madrid-born ref in charge have been six wins, two draws and five defeats for the Malaguistas.

The first Málaga CF-Celta de Vigo

Curiously, on 7th May 2000, and also the 36th First Division match of the season, Málaga CF and RC Celta de Vigo met for the first time at La Rosaleda. The result was a 0-1 win for the visitors, with the goal from Gustavo López.
