Malaguista Veterans will fight for the Liga FEAFV in Valladolid

The ‘Málaga CF Forever’ defeated Fuengirola in the final of the Liga Solidaria FEAFV South Zone, held in Coín, and will now try to conquer the national title next month in Valladolid.

The team of the Association of Ex Málaga Football Players defeated the Fuengirola Veterans on penalties. The entertaining match ended in a 2-2 draw at the end of normal time, and was decided with a penalty shoot-out, with a decisive ‘Koke’ Contreras for the Blue and Whites. In addition to the Madrid-born goalkeeper, the usual Fernando, Manolo Gaspar, Juanito, Valcarce and Josemi - first team delegate - were on the team, amongst others, without forgetting the goal-scorers of the final, Dely Valdés and Raúl Iznata.

A day of solidarity held at Nuestra Señora de la Fuensanta ground (Coín), with funds raised going to help families in need within the Málaga municipality. In regard to the sporting aspect, winning the South Zone title puts Málaga top seed ahead of the final stage of the Liga FEAFV - Spanish 7-a-side Championship - taking place on Saturday 10th June in Valladolid. The list of qualified teams:

  • North Zone – 1st Real Valladolid and 2nd CA Osasuna
  • East Coast Zone – 1st Levante UD and 2nd Benidorm CD
  • South Zone – 1st Málaga CF and 2nd AV Fuengirola
