Malaguista veterans are on top form

The team from the Association of Ex-Málaga Football Players qualified to the southern final of the Veterans’ Liga Solidaria FEAFV last Sunday in Alhaurín de la Torre.

The second round of the competition this season, as a quadrangular formation, was held at the ‘El Pinar’ ground. Málaga won both their matches; defeating the Estepona veterans by 3-1, with goals from Javi Ramos (2) and the current Juvenil DH coach, Dely Valdés; and beating the veterans from Balompédica Linense by 7-0, with doubles from the aforementioned Javi Ramos and Dely Valdés, plus additional goals from Valcarce, Rafa Serrano and Blue and Whites’ first team delegate, Josemi. Apoño was the new addition to the usual Fernando, ‘Koke’ Contreras, Manolo Gaspar and company, in a team that is increasingly becoming younger and more refreshed.

The double win allows the ‘Forever’ team to take part in the southern final of the Liga FEAFV on 28th May in Coín. Furthermore, a wonderful fundraising day also took place in Alhaurín de la Torre, with monies raised donated to ‘Proyecto Hombre’ Málaga.
