Malagueño knocks down the first door

The Blue and Whites’ reserve team has 77 points and has therefore mathematically qualified to the promotion play-offs to Second Division B. If they end the regular season as leaders, they could ascend by surpassing just one tie.

Manel Ruano’s boys have assured their participation in the fight for promotion to Second Division B. 77 points in 32 matches put the Malaguistas as the first representative in the Third Division Group IX play offs.

The Blue and Whites are first in the table with a 14-point advantage above the main followers; Antequera CF and UD Almería ‘B’. This Sunday, Atlético Malagueño will face Antequera in a match that could be definitive for the future of the competition. Should the MCF Academy side win and Almería’s reserve team not claim three points, the Malaguistas will be proclaimed group champions.

If they win the title, Malagueño could achieve promotion to Second Division B by surpassing just one two-legged tie against the leader of another group. If not, they will have a second opportunity in a play-off of two more rounds.
