Sergio Pellicer, coach of the Juvenil División de Honor team in MCF’s Academy, collected the award for his team from the Málaga Association of Sports Press in the ninth annual gala, held at the Edgar Neville auditorium in Málaga’s Provincial Government.
The ceremony was attended by a large representation from the coaching team; Club advisers, Abdullah Ben Barek, Francisco Martín Aguilar and Antonio Benítez; and sports director, Francesc Arnau.
The award highlights the ‘Juvenil’ team’s magnificent season, in which they won the Champions Cup in their category in Vera (Almería).
Sergio Pellicer: “I think football is forgotten in many places, but that’s certainly not the case in Málaga, it’s very much in the present. It’s reassuring and underlines all the work everyone’s been doing on behalf of the coaching team and some amazing players.”
Francesc Arnau: “It’s a recognition of all the hard work accomplished. The important thing is that the footballers who are here, and who are internationals in all categories, could reach the first team. It’s an honour to congratulate the boys for their hard work, and encourage them to continue.”
