Following the draw for the final stage of the FEAFV Tournament (Spanish Association of Veteran Footballers), the Málaga veterans will face the Elche veterans on Saturday 18th June at 6 p.m. at the Ciutat de l’esport d’Alboraia in Valencia, in one of the semi-finals. The other semi-final is between host side, Valencia CF and Athletic Club de Bilbao. Both will take place at the same time, and the competition will come to an end with the match to determine the third-placed side, as well as the grand final.
The Malaguista veterans have a revamped and rejuvenated squad, with ex-players including Fernando Fernández, ‘Koke’ Contreras, Manolo Gaspar, Juanito Gutiérrez, Loren Zúñiga and Padilla, amongst others, and the almost confirmed presence of Dutch player, ‘Kiki’ Musampa. “We’re all really keen and determined to achieve something positive for Málaga. We’ll try our best to win the tournament. They are finals and should always be played to win”, comments the president of the association, Ernesto Terrón.
