Readers of the online edition of sporting daily, MARCA, have voted for the best goal in the BBVA League this season, 2011/12, with the winner being Málaga Club de Fútbol’s Julio Baptista. He scored the goal in a match against Getafe in La Rosaleda, resulting in a Blue and Whites victory against the Madrid outfit by 3-2.

Málaga Club de Fútbol has started work on a series of modifications to the Martiricos stadium, requested by UEFA as part of the requirements for maximum level competition. Following initial talks, the European organisation has notified the Club of the minimum requirements needed for matches held in La Rosaleda.

Málaga Club de Fútbol player, Julio Baptista, accompanied by the Club’s Chief Medical Officer, Juan Carlos Pérez Frías, attended an appointment with Dr. Ramón Cugat, this Wednesday 16th May, in the Hospital Clínica Quirón in Barcelona.

Málaga Club de Fútbol’s ‘Isco’, has been named as the best Spanish midfielder, by the ‘Football Draft 12 Coaching Committee’, an organisation that supports and promotes football’s youth teams, and promising football stars (between 16 and 20 years of age).

Málaga Club de Fútbol, and players Weligton Robson Pena de Oliveira and Jesús Gámez, have reached an agreement to extend their contracts with the Martiricos Club. Central defender, Weligton, signed for another season, with the option of a further season, whilst Jesús Gámez extended his contract for another two years, meaning he will be with the Blue and Whites until 2015/16.

The first MBC Paddle Tennis Tournament was held in Reserva del Higuerón. Francisco Delgado and Antonio Trigo, from Clínicas Rincón, were victorious, in an intense and very close final against ‘Malaguistas’ Arnau-Valcarce.
