This morning the Junta de Andalucía gave the green light, on behalf of the Ministry of the Environment’s Arraijanal Special Plan, for the project to construct Málaga CF’s La Academia, the first phase of which will get underway this summer. Director general of the Club, Vicente Casado describes this day as “historic. There will be a ‘before and ‘after’ for the Club with regards to the academy.” For his part, Minister for Education, Culture and Sport, Luciano Alonso affirms: “Málaga CF is laying the foundation for the future.”

The Junta de Andalucía announced this morning in a press conference with the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Luciano Alonso; Junta delegate in Málaga, José Luis Ruiz Espejo; and Málaga Club de Fútbol director general, Vicente Casado, the approval by the Ministry of Environment for the construction of Málaga CF’s La Academia, with works due to get underway over summer.

The two Málaga CF players were present at the inauguration of the new store of Málaga brand, Makarthy, located in Calle Granada. The Blue and Whites’ footballers enjoyed live music at the event and saw the brand’s spring/summer clothing and accessories collection, as worn by the ‘Malaguista’ first team.

Pedro Jiménez has been the voice of La Rosaleda for seven years. A profession he describes as “work and a hobby”, as, of course, he’s a ‘Malaguista’. Team line-ups, announcements, substitutions, and chanting the Málaga CF goals are his principal tasks during every game, always accompanied by Sergio Pascual who is in charge of uploading animations on the video screen, along with Javi Pérez, the sound technician who controls the mixing desk to ensure sound reaches every corner of the Martiricos stadium perfectly.

Málaga Club de Fútbol recognised José Enrique Carpena who recently achieved two bronze medals in the Spanish Championships for adaptive cycling, and UMA Antequera who achieved promotion to ‘Primera División Nacional’ in indoor football on 18th April. During half-time between Málaga CF and Elche CF, the Martiricos outfit presented the cyclist and the Antequera-based club with a team shirt, and welcomed them as special guests to La Rosaleda. Current runners-up representing Málaga CF in the King’s Winter Regatta, Óliver Góngora and Javier Jiménez were also present.
