A representation from the Club, made up of coach, Javi Gracia; assistant coach, Marcelo Romero; Club advisers, Antonio Benítez, Abdullah Ben Barek and Francisco Martín Aguilar; director general, Vicente Casado and sporting director, Mario Husillos visited the ‘Feria’ in the city centre along with journalists and Club sponsors.

Madrid-born defender, Miguel Torres was officially presented this afternoon at La Rosaleda as a new member of Málaga Club de Fútbol. The versatile defender held a press conference and later put on the Blue and Whites’ shirt for the first time: “I’ve only ever heard good things about Málaga CF and I was eager to come here.”

Former Málaga Club de Fútbol player, Jesús Gámez held a press conference at La Rosaleda stadium this afternoon, to bid farewell to everyone at the Martiricos Club and all the fans. Directors of the ‘Malaguista’ Club, employees and Jesús Gámez’s teammates got together to say an emotional goodbye, and thank him for his long and successful career with the Blue and Whites: “This is a difficult time for me. I’ve got so many wonderful memories from here that I’ll never forget. I arrived at this Club at just 14 or 15 years of age, and it was here where I grew both as a footballer and a person. Málaga CF is my home and my family, and I would love to return one day. I’ll always wish the best for Málaga CF.” Following the press conference, Málaga Club de Fútbol presented Gámez with a commemorative plaque to mark his career as a ‘Malaguista’. He has played the most matches in all categories wearing the Blue and Whites’ shirt in Málaga CF’s history (a total of 291 official matches).

Málaga Club de Fútbol, ACF Fiorentina and UNESCO exchanged gifts during half-time at tonight’s Costa del Sol UNESCO Trophy match. Through Club adviser, Francisco Martín Aguilar and director general, Vicente Casado, the Martiricos Club presented the Italian Club with a silver ship ornament. ACF Fiorentina presented UNESCO representative, Gent Seiti with a Club badge, whilst UNESCO presented the Florence-based side with a Blue and Whites’ shirt.

Málaga CF presented the trophy which is in play as they take on AC Fiorentina on Sunday 10th August at 9:30 p.m. at Los Baños del Carmen, one of the most emblematic grounds in the 110 years of footballing history in Málaga. Club adviser, Antonio Fernández was present, along with first team player, Fernando Tissone and the youngest player in La Academia, ‘Joselillo’ Gaitán.

Club vice president, Moayad Shatat talks about the match between both teams: “It allowed each side to learn from one another and further develop the relationship between the ‘Malaguista’ Club and Qatar.” Both teams posed for a pre-match photograph together, and representatives from both sides exchanged gifts at half-time.

Málaga CF and members of the Qatar national squad enjoyed dinner together at Hotel Panorama, where both teams are staying ahead of Wednesday’s game. Málaga’s Club vice president, Moayad Shatat, comments: “I’m so pleased to be here with the team. This is an important event to develop our relationship with the Qatar national squad, our president, Sheikh Abdullah Al Thani, and both teams.”
