The Blue and Whites’ captain affirms: “It’s important that we play well in away matches, as we’re performing successfully at home. We need to focus on teams ahead of us in the League, and ensure we win at home and gain points away too. The fans will be behind us as they have been all along, fill the stadium and create the same euphoria as when we qualified to the Champions League, and we’ll do our job on the pitch.”
Two players from NASL side, New York Cosmos, Hunter Gorskie and Sebastián Guenzatti spent the week in Málaga training with the Blue and Whites reserve team, as part of an exchange of experiences project for players and coaches from Málaga CF and the New York-based team.
Blue and Whites’ player, Juanmi was chosen by fans on Twitter, using #MVPJuanmi, as the best ‘Malaguista’ in the match against Levante UD at La Rosaleda: “I think the team played a great match, we generated lots of scoring opportunities and dominated every aspect of play. We weren’t fortunate in front of the goal, but I’m pleased with all our hard work.”
Following the match against Atlético de Madrid, Málaga CF’s Angeleri, Jesús Gámez and Samu attended to the assembled media in the mixed zone.
Blue and Whites’ midfielder, Fernando Tissone, talks about the recent League break and this weekend’s upcoming match at the Bernabéu: “Our method of work is slightly different, as we’ve been focusing on our physical strength, due to a number of games coming up in a short space of time. There are a lot of quality teams in the Spanish League and any team can defeat any rival. It’s crucial we make the most out of every opportunity and play with a great degree of determination. We can defeat any team,” explains the ‘Malaguista’ player.
