Gracia: “The important thing is to focus on us”

The coach, on his 46th birthday, affirms “the important thing is to earn points, improve our ranking, eighth place, the maximum…this has to be our objective.”

Focused on victory

“There will always be an option to gain permanency, although they lost here.  However, above focusing on the others, which is something that won’t help us, the really important factor is to focus on us, as we have done all season: try to claim the points in play and improve our records…Our work is the most important, and that of all the other teams is secondary.  At this time, what we must concentrate on is earning points, trying to improve our ranking, regain ninth place, reach eighth, and do the maximum we can.  This has to be our objective and ambition right now.  One can become caught up in everything and worry about teammates or acquaintances, and although you can wish them the best, we must focus on us and fight as hard as we can for the three points at stake.”

Return of Kameni to the line-up

“There was a time when he wasn’t at his best level.  He’s been in training over the past weeks, which is the only way to achieve good tone, confidence and security.  I now see him eager to give his all and help the team whether he’s playing or not, but as another member of the team.”

Levante UD

“There are logical situations in which the team has shown a certain weakness, which is why they’re in this position, but they are now playing for their life, to survive.  Teams that are playing or defending their lives always give their all, and that’s the danger we’ll face tomorrow – we’re up against a rival who knows they are playing for their life and fighting to survive.  I don’t know what aspects of the game will be more or less successful, but I’m aware we’ll be playing a team that will make their defeat very costly, so we must be prepared and give our best performance.”
