Coín-born striker Juan Miguel Jiménez ‘Juanmi’ made his debut with Spain yesterday against Holland at the Amsterdam Arena, and therefore becomes the 11th Blue and Whites’ player, and 7th Málaga-born player to wear the Spain shirt.

Málaga Club de Fútbol’s Roberto Rosales took part in the international friendly between Venezuela and Peru at the Lockhart Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, USA, which ended in victory for the ‘Vinotinto’ side. Rosales was in Venezuela’s starting-11 and played for 90 minutes.

Following his official debut with Spain, Juanmi shares his experience of wearing ‘La Roja’ shirt for the first time with ‘Malaguista’ fans on “It’s a dream come true for me and I want to continue gaining the confidence of the coach.”

The Coín-born striker was in Vicente del Bosque’s initial line-up, and substituted after 61 minutes by Morata. Juanmi, who participated a great deal in the match and was highly mobile, came close to a goal from a shot on the half turn, however the match ended in a 2-0 victory for Holland.

Málaga Club de Fútbol’s Arthur Boka held a press conference this morning to analyse the team and the upcoming match against Real Sociedad: “The match against Real Sociedad is an important one, so we’ll give our all in order to win.”

The Málaga CF player was part of Spain’s under-21s victory against Belarus. The ‘Malaguista’ joined the match in minute 68, substituting goal-scorer, Gerard Delofeu.
