Duda: “We’re more united than ever”

The Málaga CF captain held a press conference before this afternoon’s training session. The Portuguese-born player affirms that the group is “working well, today we’re all going to the hotel and are more united than ever.”

Focused before match against Granada

“The team is relaxed, but we’re aware we’ve got an important match on Saturday in which we need to salvage the situation, so you could say that it’s liken a final.  We’re also playing at our ground in front of our fans, therefore we’ll go all out to claim the three points and alleviate some of the pressure.”

“Today we’re all going to the concentration hotel and are more united than ever.  I think it’s positive that we’re going, the dressing room is unified but it’s always good to stay together before games.  It was a decision we all made.”

Getting out of the situation

“With a little bit of luck we’ll get out of this situation with a couple of wins.  We can reach a higher part of the table and exit the relegation zone.  I’m confident in the quality of the team and our eagerness to win.  I’m playing for the group and to ensure we leave this position as quickly as possible.”

“It doesn’t matter to us whether the rival is Granada or not, what’s important is winning, so we’re not thinking ahead any further than Saturday.  We want to win whatever it takes, playing well or poorly.  Victory is what’s important and that’s what we’re focusing on.”

Staying away from non-sporting activities

“The players are steering clear of what’s going on in the offices.  We’re concentrating on working hard to prepare for Saturday in order to claim the three points.  We’re not thinking about the coach leaving, we’ve got a great coach and a fantastic squad, however our hard work isn’t reaping rewards, but we’ll be working hard for 90 minutes on Saturday.”

Call to the fans and home grown players

“These fans have won the award for the best fans of the year and we all hope that they’re behind us on Saturday.  I’m certain that every one of us will do all we can for our fans.”

“Pablo and Ontiveros are great guys.  We need to nurture them and not pile the pressure on.  The more experienced players must take the bulk of the pressure, they need to grow as players and earn their place on the team.”
