Adrián: “We’ll arrive prepared for #MálagaEibar”

The Blue and Whites’ player recalls his past with the ‘Armero’ outfit, the upcoming LaLiga rival: “I spent two great years there, but now I belong to Málaga and I’m very happy here”.

Carranza

“The two Carranza Cup games did us good, particularly in reflecting everything we’ve been working on during the pre-season. Personally, I think the team is doing well, starting to find a clear idea of play and showing a slightly better image than we’ve seen in the pre-season. These two matches were good for us, not just in a footballing sense, but also for morale, because teams like to play well and be capable of winning. It’s a pretty positive way to start the week, and begin preparations for Monday’s game”.

Idea of play

“Many things happen during the season, but what is clear is that we’ll be a compact team between the lines, determined to gain possession and control of the match. We’ve been engaging in forms of play, but beyond the results, I think we’re beginning to have a clear idea of how we want to play and how we want to do things. I’m certain we’ll arrived fully prepared on Monday to win the match against Eibar”.

The rival – SD Eibar

“They have many good traits, especially an idea and a block they’ve maintained over the past three seasons, since Mendilibar arrived at the club. They have very clear ideas of their ideology of play, which won’t change much this year, more so because they haven’t lost many players. Above all, it’ll be a match in which we’ll have to compete very well”.

Adrián is now friendly fire

“I had to face Málaga CF, and I scored two goals. At that time, I didn’t think too much about the situation here, I was solely focused on doing my job, the same as I will do on Monday. It’s true that I spent two great years there, but now I belong to Málaga and I’m very happy here. I’m really looking forward to Monday, winning and hopefully scoring a goal”.

More defensive position

“I’ve always said I’m comfortable if I’m in the 11. You know I’m a player who can play in various positions, and if I have to help my team by playing in that position, then I’ll do it without a problem. I’m always available to help in any position on the field of play. Whilst because of my characteristics I may favour playing on the inside more, that has no bearing on me playing a little further back”.

Protective headgear, water under the bridge

“I had a fissure in a bone in my head, and had to wear the helmet as a precaution, because in addition I had a little bleeding in the ear. Against Villarreal CF I was able to play without it, and luckily, I’ve completely recovered. I much prefer to play without the helmet”.
