Adrián: “I’ve always looked at Málaga with admiration”

The new Malaguista player was officially presented at Restaurante El Columpio, next to Campo Municipal Pedro Berruezo. “I feel like a man of the Club, and I can help in many ways”.

Adrián González held a press conference to the media at the presentation, which was also attended by Club adviser, Abdullah Ben Barek and sports director, Francesc Arnau, who evaluates the arrival of the versatile midfielder: “We value his qualities and his numbers are very important for any First Division player. He’s competed in more than 200 matches, and this year he uncovered a lot from a scoring aspect. He fits in perfectly, and signs for three years with the option of another, depending on the number of games he plays during his last year. I hope he’ll bring us everything he’s shown on the field of play and be a man of the Club”.

Admiration and interest

“I’ve always looked at Málaga from the outside with admiration. It’s one of the great Clubs in which to compete in LaLiga, which was the main attraction for me. They showed a lot of interest from the beginning when they contacted me, which was another important reason for me when it came to making the decision”.

Versatility

“I’ve always felt a little more comfortable behind the striker, but throughout my career I’ve played in various positions, and have been able to perform at a good level. The position I enjoy playing in the most is behind the striker”.

Keko and personal

“I have a great relationship with Keko, and he’s kept me informed about Málaga (…) As a footballer I’ve already shown what I can bring to a team, and what I’ve done previously”.

Collective and individual

“From a collective aspect, trying to improve on last season. I think it’s positive for the Club to always finish in the top 10. Growing every year is an improvement, and from a personal point of view, I’ll be trying to do the same, and better my records from last year, which is a great challenge. I feel like a man of the Club, and I can help in many ways, aside from football, and I come here with this objective. I want to continue learning and growing as a player, which is my focus for the upcoming season”.
