Adrián: “It wasn’t the match we were hoping for”

The Blue and Whites’ midfielder appeared in the mixed zone after the match against Eibar to analyse the game: “Following the goal, we tried to react and improve our gameplay, but it wasn’t enough”.

Unexpected match

“For the first match, it wasn’t what we were hoping for. I think the team showed initiative and took control in the first half, but in the second we gave Eibar a lot of ground, which they made the most of to score. Following the goal, we tried to react, and improve our gameplay, but it wasn’t enough”.

Lacking punch

“It wasn’t a lack of spark, but more a lack of punch. Perhaps another day the match could have been more straightforward, but what marked the game for us was the start of the second half. We were immersed in our half, and failed on more passes than usual, which left us contained inside our area, favouring their system of play”.

Team

“During the first half the team played well, we conveyed the idea we’ve been working on all week. We’re annoyed as I think there is sufficient team and quality to have won tonight, and to enjoy a good season”.

Fans

“We must thank the fans for coming to support and cheer us on here on a Monday at 22:00. Many of them have to work tomorrow, which says a great deal about them, I’m certain they won’t abandon us over the season”.
