As soon as the season ends, Málaga Club de Fútbol’s La Academia teams will be travelling over Europe taking part in a variety of football tournaments. This coming weekend, the ‘Malaguistas’ are going to Ronda (Málaga), Montalbán (Cádiz), Villamartín (Cádiz), Lodi (Italy) and Pleudihen (France).

One of La Academia’s ‘juvenil’ teams is participating in the under-17’s world tournament, getting underway today until 2nd June in Madrid. The Blue and Whites are in Group B alongside Real Madrid, River Plate and Sampdoria.

A fantastic weekend for La Academia teams that took part in the final phase of the Andalucían Championships, in the ‘Cadete’ and ‘Infantil’ categories. Andrés Carrasco’s boys defeated Real Betis in the semis (2-1) to go on to beat Sevilla FC in the final (3-0). Javier Moran’s ‘Infantiles’ were victorious over Real Betis in the semi-finals (3-1) and later defeated Granada CF in the final (4-0) to take the title.

Atlético Malagueño’s victory against Casino del Real leaves Josep Clotet’s boys in fourth place with qualification to the Second Division B promotion play-offs. The Juvenil División de Honor side weren’t as lucky in their Copa del Rey first leg match against Villareal CF, and need to try and turn the result around in the return leg of the last-16. The Alevín Preferente team got through to the next stage of the Andalucían Championships, and will now face Ciudad de Granada.
