The ‘Alevín’ and ‘Benjamín’ teams from Málaga CF’s youth academy both finished in third place in the ‘Ciutat de Torrent’ Tournament held in Valencia, defeated by FC Barcelona and Villarreal CF in the semi-finals. La Academia’s 7-a-side coach, Carlos Jiménez was awarded the prize of ‘best coach in the tournament.’

It wasn’t to be. The ‘Juvenil’ team from Málaga CF’s youth academy has had an amazing season, ending with two semi-finals in the Copa de Campeones and Copa del Rey. In the return leg against the Whites, which was broadcast live via www.malagacf.com, the Blue and Whites lost by 4-1, despite a good performance at the ‘Ciudad Deportiva de Valdebebas.’

The 'Alevin Preferente' and 'Benjamin' teams are participating in the Ciutat de Torrent Tournament starting this Friday 20th June. Last year the 'Alevines' were declared champions and the 'Benjamines' runners-up. This time around, FC Barcelona, Valencia CF and Villarreal CF will be some of the rivals the boys will come up against.

La Academia player, José Luis Zalazar ‘Kuki’ has been called up to represent Spain’s under-16’s in the Kazakhstan President's Cup held in Astana, Kazakhstan from 23rd to 30th June. Spain are in Group B and will come up against Iran, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan.
