Málaga Club de Fútbol landed back in Málaga this morning following a long journey, and completing the historic tour of South America within the Liga World Challenge. The tour saw them face Deportivo Cali, San Lorenzo de Almagro and Peñarol de Montevideo, three successful clubs which helped to strengthen the image of the Martiricos club on the other side of the Atlantic. The team is enjoying a day off today and will get back to work tomorrow, Tuesday for an evening training session kicking off at 7, at La Rosaleda stadium.

The former Peñarol and Málaga CF player from Uruguay was the Blue and Whites’ guest of honour at the Centenario stadium. Darío Silva watched the match alongside Club adviser, Francisco Martín Aguilar; director general, Vicente Casado; and Liga ambassador, José Luis Astiazarán, who presented the former player with the Málaga CF silver ship at half-time.

Right-winger Roberto Rosales scored his first goal with the Blue and Whites against Peñarol at the Centenario stadium: “I’m really pleased with my first goal, as it’s been a while since I’ve scored, but above all I’m happy with the victory and competing this tour which was great for the team.”

Málaga CF ends the Liga World Challenge and Copa EuroAmericana with a win against CA Peñarol in Montevideo at the historic Centenario stadium, thanks to goals in the second half from Duje Cop, a fantastic free kick from Duda and another from Rosales, his first goal as a ‘Malaguista’.

The final Copa EuroAmericana match between Málaga CF and CA Peñarol is being shown live online from 3 p.m. (8 p.m. in Spain) via the retransmission of DirectTV offered by the Liga World Challenge channel.

The Liga World Challenge and ICEX have jointly developed Spain Experience, a project that will take Spain all over the world via football. On this occasion Málaga CF’s match against CA Peñarol in Montevideo served to unite Uruguayan and Spanish businesspeople before the match kicked off.
