Málaga CF midfielder, José Luis García del Pozo ‘Recio’ scored the second Blue and Whites’ goal in tonight’s Copa del Rey match against Deportivo: “We were determined to get through to the next round. I think we’ve got a very good dynamic and can go a long way in this competition. We scored four goals in the second half and I’m really pleased I scored one of them.”

Málaga CF coach, Javi Gracia held a press conference in the Juan Cortés press room at La Rosaleda following his team’s qualification to the next round of the Copa del Rey.

The Málaga CF Foundation, in collaboration with the AECC organised a fundraising dinner in La Rosaleda’s VIP area, attended by 50 people. Guests watched tonight’s match with superb views of the pitch whilst having dinner, and also got the chance to step on to the pitch before kick-off and visited the Málaga CF Museum & Tour, in an initiative to raise funds for the fight against cancer.

Málaga Club de Fútbol defeated Real Club Deportivo de La Coruña by 4-1 in tonight’s Copa del Rey knockout stage return leg at La Rosaleda. After a goalless first half, Santa Cruz put the ‘Malaguistas’ in the lead in minute 51. Postiga equalised after 56 minutes, Recio put Málaga back in front three minutes later, and along with another Santa Cruz goal in minute 67 and a fourth from Camacho in stoppage time, the Blue and Whites sealed their victory. A clear and deserved win for the home side, who will face Levante UD in the next round of the competition.

‘Futu’, Cristina and Andrea from ‘Segunda División Femenina’ side, Atlético Málaga are in Palma del Condado (Huelva) ahead of the first stage of the Spanish Championships with Andalucía, kicking off tomorrow. Miriam Córdoba ‘Futu’ is in the under-16s, whilst Cristina Postigo and Andrea Ríos are competing with the under-18s.

The ‘Alevín’ team in Málaga CF’s youth academy is heading to Cornellá tomorrow to take part in the 5th Powerade Cup over the weekend. The Blue and Whites’ rivals in the group stage are: Real Madrid, Girona FC, Fundación Marcet and Vic Riuprimer.

Málaga Club de Fútbol’s expansion throughout the province continues, with the sixth official store being inaugurated tomorrow, Friday 19th December. Located in the Rincón de la Victoria commercial centre, this new store will have the official collection of team strips and ‘Malaguista’ merchandise available to fans.

Málaga Club de Fútbol underwent a closed training session this morning at La Rosaleda, ahead of tonight’s Copa del Rey knockout stage return leg which will see Javi Gracia’s men face Real Club Deportivo de la Coruña at 10 pm.
