Martín Aguilar and Valcarce, at the 10th anniversary of the International Supporters’ Club

La Peña Internacional Malaguista, or ‘Malaguista International Supporters’ Club’, (PIM) celebrated its ten years of being linked to the Martiricos organisation this evening, Thursday 29th March, at its base in Marbella, a pub called ‘The Tavern’. On behalf of the Club were Consultant Advisor, Francisco Martín Aguilar, and Vincente Valcarce.

It was a lively ceremony, in which apart from Martín Aguilar and Valcarce, there was also Miguel Molina, the president of the Supporters’ Clubs Federation, who was accompanied by its director, Antonio Salas.  The PIM's celebrations, led by its president, Ken Schooler, and director Mercy Chapman, drew more than 50 local members and many more from overseas, and they were warmly greeted by the MCF committee on their tenth anniversary as a Blue and Whites ‘peña’.

Málaga CF presented the PIM with various gifts, such as scarves, ties, key rings and badges, as well as a shirt signed by al the first team members.  The Federation handed over a commemorative plaque in honour of their ten years.  Mercy Chapman commented: “We’re delighted by the party, for our anniversary, and we hope to always continue with Málaga,” before handing plaque to the Club as well as ones to Miguel Molina and Ken Schooler.

Martín Aguilar then gave a few words of thanks to the international supporters’ club.  In Spanish he said: “On behalf of Málaga, thank you for this simple yet brilliant event for all those who have Málaga in their heart.”  He then said in English: “Thank you for your fantastic support.”  Molino followed suit, adding” Thank you to everyone for inviting us to this party.  It’s a ‘peña’ that has special merit.  Well done for your support at La Rosaleda and never stop cheering on this Club as this city is very appreciative for people like you,”   He then presented Chapman with flowers.

Valcarce also addressed the supporters’ club, known affectionately as the ‘peña guiri’: “I was very happy during my ten years as a player, I had a great time, and I hope we can reach our objective of getting into Europe.  The team is having a great run and we have to achieve something great for Málaga.  We can do it.”  The party ended with a hearty feast and everyone left full of enthusiasm with Málaga CF in a great sporting moment.
