The Association of Ex Málaga Football Players was founded on 13th December 2002 with the aim of promoting and maintaining the relationship between former players of CD Málaga, Málaga CF, Átletico Malagueño and Málaga B; in addition it offers them any support or advice they need once they’ve retired from professional football.
Amongst the not-for-profit association’s activities, is, of course, the organisation of and participation in matches in three different tournaments: the National Indoor Football League, the Andalusian 7- a-side League, and the Southern Veterans League.
And they’re doing extremely well, winning the Southern Veterans League last season for the second consecutive year, and also they’re reigning champions in the 7-a-side League. Similarly, their debut in last season’s Indoor League didn’t go unnoticed either.
Off the pitch, Málaga’s Ex-Players give lectures and seminars to current players as well as organising and taking part in various inaugurations and charity events. Following an agreement with the provincial government, La Diputación de Málaga, many of these activities mean the association travels all over the province.
