Season 1994 1995

On the 29th June 1994 the transformation into a Sociedad Anónima Deportiva was signed and a new project was born with the help of businessmen from Málaga Fernando Puche, Federico Beltrán and Eduardo Padilla. Antonio Benítez was in charge of directing the project that counted on eleven additions, compared to the previous campaign in which the club played under the name of Atlético Malagueño in the same category, Third Division.

The first game played in the history of Málaga Club de Fútbol was in Adra on 4th September 1994 with a final 1 – 1 draw, thanks to the goal from malagueño Juanma – the first official goal scorer in the young history of the club.  They didn't lose a single game during the entire season, even more, there were goalfests that would stick in the memory like the 9 – 0 at Atlético Estación and the 14 – 0 at Garrucha. Finally, after the tough promotion play-offs against Puertollano, Isla Cristina and Jerez de los Caballeros, they achieved the focused object of promotion to Second Division B on the 28th June 1995.

Kiko Aranda was top scorer that season with 27 goals. A young Basti came second with 23 goals and the Asturian Toño scored 21 (5 in the play-offs for Second B) to complete the top scorers list.
